What’s in the Box
The packaging is familiar if you've seen previous Galaxy Watch models. My unit is the 44mm Bluetooth Green version, and inside the box, you'll find:

The quick-release strap makes it easy to change bands to suit your outfit or activity. That’s one of the perks of using a smartwatch—you can match it with your workout clothes, office wear, or even formal settings.
Design and Build
While I used the 44mm Watch4, the Watch7 doesn’t feel bulkier at all. In fact, the thinner bezel and brighter AMOLED display give a much more immersive experience when viewing workout stats or maps outdoors. The “floating glass” design makes the screen appear as if it’s hovering above the aluminum body, giving it a clean and modern aesthetic.

Workout Features & Real Use
Auto Workout Detection
Walking and running are detected automatically—no need to manually start a workout. After about 5 minutes of activity, the watch starts recording and shows a summary. This was already available in the Watch4, but the detection speed and accuracy are definitely improved.
Treadmill & Outdoor Running
I tested the Watch7 both on the treadmill and outdoors after rain. It accurately matched the treadmill's stats and maintained a stable GPS connection outdoors—thanks to the new dual-band GNSS support, which reduces location drift in dense cities or under trees.
Running Data
As a regular runner (currently in the “Purple level” on Nike Run Club), I found the pace tracking, heart rate zones, and course summaries to be highly accurate. The Watch7 supports running coach, past run comparisons, and pace zone insights, making it a solid tool for runners.
Strength Training (Weight Sets)
It recognizes sets, reps, and rest time for exercises like bench press or curls. You can manually enter the weight, duration, and rest periods. A vibration alert signals the end of each set, which is super convenient during gym workouts.
Battery Life
Battery performance depends on your settings and usage. Here’s what I observed:

The new 3nm Exynos W1000 chip helps a lot with power efficiency. Paired with a slightly bigger battery (425mAh), it's an upgrade over the Watch4 in daily life.
AI Features & Gestures
Energy Score
Samsung’s new Energy Score combines your sleep, heart rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen, skin temperature, snoring data, and recent activity into a single 0–100 score. It tells you how ready your body is to take on the day—whether to push harder or rest.
This score is backed by research from Georgia State University and provides personalized wellness insights each morning via the Samsung Health app.
Double Pinch Gesture
One of the coolest new features: double tap your thumb and index finger (without touching the screen), and you can answer calls, control music, or take photos. Great for workouts when your hands are sweaty or busy!
Final Thoughts
If your main goal is fitness tracking, the Galaxy Watch7 offers noticeably better responsiveness, GPS accuracy, and health insights compared to the Watch4.
Even after the Watch8 was released in July 2025, the Watch7 still stands strong in terms of value—especially for users who want accurate, automatic workout tracking and sleep insights without the premium price tag of newer models.
